- Problem #19
- Why do I need a 128-bit encryption browser and what does SSL mean?
- Recommendation:
- To use Lyons National Bank LNB Online Banking, we require that you use a secure browser with 128-bit SSL encryption to communicate with the bank. 128-bit SSL browsers have the highest level of encryption and are over a trillion times more secure than the next best form of encryption. The U.S. government reports that 128-bit security will provide effective protection for the next two decades. Encryption is the process of translating meaningful communication into undecipherable code and then back into meaningful communication. It ensures that communication between you and the Bank cannot be translated by anyone without the correct encryption keys. Most browsers have this level of encryption. SSL stands for "Secure Socket Layer." This technology allows users to establish sessions with Internet sites which are secure, meaning they have minimal risk of external violation. Once inside the LNB Online Banking site, you are secure through our use of SSL technology.

- Problem #21
- What about security? Is my financial information safe here?
- Recommendation:
- This is a common concern with banking and commerce on the Internet. Technology has been developed to safeguard data through encryption or coding of information, creating barriers between systems that can only be crossed with authorized passwords, and by creating safe pathways to and from each system.
Any kind of breach in the security of our systems would be a serious business issue for Lyons National Bank. Our success as a financial institution depends on our ability to manage these systems safely and to continue to earn your trust as our customer. Please be assured that we will go to every measure possible to protect the financial information and resources you have entrusted to us.
You can help safeguard your information and the banking systems by protecting your password. The password is the only way to get access into your account. Please keep your password secure.

- Problem #22
- What else does the Bank do to protect my accounts and personal information?
- Recommendation:
- Our Web Banking System has a built-in timer that will terminate your session if you are not actively using the system after 20 minutes. Your private information, such as your Access code, will never be displayed on your computer screen or, after the initial registration, in any form of correspondence with Lyons National Bank.

- Problem #23
- What can I do to protect my accounts and personal information while I am banking online?
- Recommendation:
- While Lyons National Bank does everything it can to protect the confidentiality of your online information, we can't do it alone. You also share in the responsibility for the security of your account information and should always follow the recommendations listed below. NEVER reveal your login Access code to anyone - ever! You are the only one who should know your Access code. Lyons National Bank will generate an access code that will be sent to you by U.S. mail. We require that you change your Access code after your first logon, and recommend that you change your Access code at regular intervals. While we will make every reasonable effort to maintain the privacy and security of your account information, we cannot be responsible for the confidentiality of your Access code once it has been received by you. No employee of Lyons National Bank will contact you and ask for your User Name and access code.
Don't leave your PC while you are logged in to the online banking system. When you finish your online banking session, you should use the Logoff button to leave the service, before visiting other Web sites.
If other people have access to your PC, clear your browser's cache in order to remove copies of web pages that may have been stored temporarily on your system. Refer to your browser's Help file for instructions on clearing your cache.
We strongly recommend that if you suspect that someone knows your Access code, that you change it immediately online. Simply login using your User Name and Access code. Once you are logged in, click on "Change Access Code" under "Customer Services" in the Navigation bar. This will allow you to designate a new Access code. Always keep in mind that you should NEVER share your access code with anyone.
